TFC:S 3rd Party MOD - Fortress Forever Announced
The Source: Fortress Forever team has been developing a blueprint of a new version of TFC on the Source engine for well in excess of a year. We now have a fresh impetus for completing the project in the shape of a new group of members like mulch and schtoofa. As posted by Schtoofa on cats: Seeing as folks are very anxious about a Team Fortress-style mod for the HL2/Source engine, it seemed appropriate to announce that there is a dedicated independent team that has already begun work on such a mod! The idea originated some time ago by community members you're probably familiar with (including billdoor, Defrag, rebo, eat - the list goes on). Using their previous work and extensive research as a starting point, and given the HL2 SDK's release, the Fortress Forever team is now pushing forward in full force. This is not your run-of-the-mill project; we have a very organized structure and plan to continue following a disciplined software design / development process throughout, hopefully yielding fruitful results . Even if Valve releases a TF2 or TFC:S, we plan to continue working on on this mod for many reasons including: it will be a good experience, we can respond to bug reports in a timely manner, and we just plain want to have a blast making a kickass mod. Keep in mind, though, that this team is independent. Though community feedback will be appreciated, not everyone's suggestions can or will be incorporated. This will be our idea, our version of a TF mod. Skinners / 2D artists - decs Gameplay Consultants: - Dospac - Revz Sound Specialist - Ghroth Web Development - FriedBunny WE'RE STILL LOOKING FOR - 2D Artists for creating textures, Sprites and Menus etc - Character & Weapon animators - More to Come Though the team does not have an official web site we figured it would be worthwhile to at least announce the project's existence and current team members. so its similar to the other mod but more tf than tfc but taking the good parts of tfc where as the other one is doing it all tfc style ?~

At last the post we were all waiting for. I wish I could help but my knowledge in all this stuff is virtually equals to zero. The team sounds very good, I don't think I could dream better coders (I won't talk about the mappers tho ! :p). Good luck pals and keep us informed ;)

maybee this thread isnt for suggestions but im going to anyway uncap bunny less det time for demo little faster rockets (and fix crosshair/rpg thing with soldier) all for faster and more fun gameplay and to balance each other out remove teleporters, they just f**k up more maps then where they actually make a good gameplay addition. There was a reason for them to be removed in qwtf do something about the hwguy, maybee make the ac overheat if its continously charged or so it needs cells for every charge up. Shouldnt have to be classlimits. make nails go where true aim is when conced same as rpg/pipes if you plan on doing some similiar conc effect. thats all i could think off for now

Should be good, one idea thought, they're all Tfc clan players. Are they trying to make it into a version like Tfc which can be played in publics like Jolt well etc or are they making certain fetures devoted to the playing style of clans? So many people are suggesting these features like cenobite did. Uncap the bunnyhop, its been 4/5 years. Most people know how to bunnyhop. If some new people turn up playing this an see our players going at top speeds an raping most people then they're most likely to turn away? A in built clan mod would be nice turning on an off all these desired features especially for league matches if it is imposed? Gl

doesnt relaly matter what they make, like they said its not a community thing they are making their own mod they can do what they like, so i hope defrag doesnt do seige mentality or some shit !!!!!!!!! (but he can do bases!) but it does sound pretty ace and if i had hl2 or even intended to get it id be extremely excited

If you need a 3ds max modeller for creating frames not covered within the hl2 library im sure i could help you out... Im not particularly hot on custom textures though ;o
