ECTFC Lustrum Edition: Official announcement

Hello all,

Summer has always been a long and calm period for TFC in Europe. To spice things up a bit we decided it would be a good idea to organise another European Championship for TFC, aka ECTFC (not ECTFCL thank you :p). Thats right people, the most covered TFC competition in the world is about to make its comeback!

From October 27nd untill November 2nd we will see another country vs country clash to decide what nationality plays TFC best. Seeing how its our 5th edition we are making some small changes to the format. We are looking at the possibility to invite 2, maybe 3, non-Europe teams to spice this tourney up even a bit more. Don't worry however: all wars will still be played in Europe and at the normal times. If this however proves not to be possible, then no non-euro teams will be invited.

Concerning the mixed teams: We decided we wont force mixed teams, but team captains can always come and request to make a mixed team with another country. We like to stress out that this is ment for the smaller teams in the competition who have a hard time fielding a decent team.

Teams will also have to subscribe for the new edition: Before September 13th, a player/captain from the team (read: someone who played in the last ECTFC for that country) must come to #ectfc and talk to reboo. He will ask for the following information: team name, tag, irc channel, website and captain. If for some reason a new captain must be assigned, tell that to reboo and the ECTFC admin crew will assign a new captain for that country. Country's can not assign a new captain themselves, they can however give their oppinion on who they would like to see taking charge of the team.

On another positive note: Gunslinger will be covering the entire event along with his new crew, providing us with excellent commentary for the top games. No need to say we expect nothing but an excellent preformance from them and wish them the best of luck. They can either be found on #GBC on gamesnet, either via their website: http://www.gbcsports.com. We are also working on getting enough decent HLTV servers during that week so we can provide a decent HLTV for every game played. If you are willing to provide us with HLTV's (which would be fantastic of course!), drop by #ECTFC and talk to McBain. Do take note we would like to have a HLTV server admin available during that week in case of any problems occuring. Also if you would like to provide us with a regular server, contact Mcbain and give him the server specs (IP, rcon, sv_password, # of slots). A minimum of 18 slots is required.

We would like to wish everyone a good time during the tournament and hope that the players will put up a decent and fair preformance. Hopefully we can make this edition the best one yet and show everyone TFC is far from dead.
